Using SherAlgo LayerPro on Prop Firm Accounts
LayerPro works on any MT5 account, and that includes prop firm evaluation and funded accounts, because LayerPro is an execution panel rather than a signal bot. It does not open trades on its own. You click, it executes, sizes, and manages. That architecture keeps it outside most of the categories prop firms restrict.
That said, every prop firm writes its own rules, and those rules change. Before you attach LayerPro to a challenge or funded account, you must read your prop firm's current EA and automation policy. This page explains how LayerPro relates to the common restrictions so you can check compatibility yourself.
How Prop Firms Typically Evaluate EAs
Most prop firms screen expert advisors against a short list of prohibited behaviors. The usual disqualifiers are:
- HFT and latency arbitrage — not allowed almost anywhere. LayerPro does not run HFT logic and does not exploit broker latency.
- Martingale — usually banned. LayerPro does not martingale. You choose your lot sizes per layer.
- Copy trading and signal mirroring — often banned or restricted. LayerPro does not copy external signals.
- News trading — depends on the firm. LayerPro does not trigger on news; you do.
- Grid systems — depends on the firm. LayerPro supports manual layering and scaling into positions, which is different from an automated grid, but you should confirm your prop firm treats layered manual entries the same way they treat discretionary trading.
LayerPro performs none of the commonly prohibited behaviors by default, because it is a manual-assist panel. Every order is initiated by you clicking a button. The layering, scaling, and position management features execute the instruction you give them; they do not generate trades.
What To Check Before Installing On A Funded Account
Work through this checklist before attaching LayerPro to any prop firm account:
- Read your prop firm's EA and automation rules in full, including any recent policy updates.
- Confirm manual-assist panels are permitted. Some firms treat them separately from fully automated EAs.
- Check the maximum lot size per trade and per symbol so your layering setup stays within limits.
- Confirm WebRequest URL whitelisting is allowed on the firm's MT5 servers (LayerPro requires license validation).
- Verify your trading style, especially if you scale or layer aggressively, sits within the firm's daily and overall drawdown limits.
- If the rules are unclear, email your prop firm's support and ask directly whether a manual execution panel is acceptable. Keep the reply.
When in doubt, check your prop firm's rules rather than assuming. We cannot give you legal or compliance advice about your specific account.
Prop Firms Commonly Used With MT5
Traders run LayerPro alongside accounts at firms such as FTMO, The5%ers, FundedNext, and various MyForexFunds-successor firms, among many others. These names are mentioned only because MT5 traders ask about them; we list none of them as "approved" and we are not telling you any specific firm permits LayerPro today. Policies shift frequently.
SherAlgo is not affiliated with any prop firm. We do not receive referral fees, we do not have partnership agreements, and we do not have insider information about what any firm will or will not allow on a given day. Always check your prop firm's rules directly.
If Your Prop Firm Disallows LayerPro
If your prop firm does not permit LayerPro, or if you prefer not to risk it on a funded account, the tool works identically on any personal broker MT5 account with full SherAlgo support. Our 7-day refund policy applies to direct purchases, so if you buy LayerPro and then discover your prop firm will not allow it, contact [email protected] within 7 days of purchase and we will process a refund.
FAQ
Can I use SherAlgo on an FTMO challenge account?
LayerPro is technically compatible with any MT5 account, including FTMO challenges. Whether FTMO permits it under their current EA policy is a question only FTMO can answer. Check your prop firm's rules and, if needed, email their support before attaching the panel.
Does LayerPro violate any prop firm's HFT rules?
No. LayerPro does not run high-frequency logic, does not exploit latency, and does not place trades automatically. Every order is triggered by a manual click. It does not meet the standard definition of an HFT EA at any prop firm we are aware of, but prop firm definitions vary, so check your prop firm's rules.
Can I move my license to a new MT5 account after passing a challenge?
Yes. Licenses can be transferred from an evaluation account to a funded account up to 5 times per license lifetime. Email [email protected] with your old and new MT5 account numbers and we will move the license, usually within 24 to 48 hours.
What happens if my funded account is breached?
A breach on the prop firm's side does not affect your SherAlgo license. The license stays with you and can be reassigned to a new MT5 account (challenge, funded, or personal broker) at no extra cost. Contact [email protected] with the new account number.
