What is SherAlgo Backtest Master? +
It is a standalone Windows desktop application — an offline strategy tester for MT5 and forex — that runs against historical data on your own computer. You configure a strategy and parameters, run the simulation locally, and read detailed performance reports and an equity curve, all without a broker connection.
Does it need an internet connection to run backtests? +
No. Backtest Master requires internet only once, for a one-time online activation on first run. After the key is verified, every backtest runs fully offline on your machine for the entire length of your plan.
How does activation work? +
After purchase you receive a license key by email. The first time you open the app it contacts SherAlgo secure servers to verify that key and unlock the software. This is a quick, one-time check — you do not need to stay connected to keep backtesting.
How many PCs can I use one license on? +
A license is intended for one PC at a time. If you need to move to a new machine, contact support and we will help you transfer the activation. Buying multiple seats for multiple machines is also available on request.
What data and platforms does it support? +
Backtest Master is built for MT5 / MetaTrader-style forex strategy testing and works with standard historical price data. It is a separate product from the SherAlgo LayerPro MT5 EA and is focused purely on fast, offline backtesting.
Can I get a refund? +
Because this is a digital license that unlocks software immediately on activation, refunds are handled under our published policy. Please read the Refund Policy before purchasing, and reach out to support if something is not working as described.
